I'm Aymen. I work with adults and teens who look fine on the outside and are exhausted underneath. Anxiety, depression, the patterns families pass down without meaning to. You don't need the right words to reach out. That's what the first conversation is for.

Many of the people I see are the strong ones. Perfectionists, people-pleasers, the ones everyone leans on. Underneath: anxiety, depression, and the things families never name.

Whoever you are, however you pray or love or don't, you're welcome here. That includes immigrant families and LGBTQIA+ folks, without an asterisk.

I've lived across cultures and navigated family expectations. My own identity got built at zig-zag intersections.

Whatever brought you here, this space holds it.

When depression settles in

You're functioning, barely. Things feel flat and far away. It doesn't have to stay that way.

The mind that won't quiet

Anxiety that shows up as overthinking, perfectionism, or a body that never stands down.

Burnout and the always-on career

High performers running on empty. The work self is thriving while the rest of you disappears.

After the baby

Postpartum shifts in mood and identity. The gap between what you expected and what this actually feels like.

Grief without a schedule

Loss that doesn't follow the stages. A person, a place, or a version of yourself.

Cultural complexity and identity

First- and second-generation adults and teens carrying two worlds. The one they came from and the one they're building.

What to expect in the first session.

Just a conversation.

Questions, answered.

How do I get started?
Call me at 214-617-5157 and leave a message if I don't pick up, or use the form at the bottom of this page. I'll get back to you personally to set up a free 15-minute call. If it feels like a good fit, we'll schedule your first full session from there.
Do you see clients in person?
Sessions are telehealth only, available to anyone in Texas. Just you and me, wherever you happen to be.
What does the first session look like?
We'll spend a few minutes on the basics, then mostly just talk. What's been going on, what you're hoping for, what you've tried before. The first session is really about you getting a feel for whether this is a place you want to keep coming back to.
How long does therapy take?
It depends on what you're working toward. Some people come for a few months; others stay for longer, deeper work. Either way, we check in regularly on how things are going and adjust as you need. You're not locked into any schedule or timeline.
Do you take insurance?
In-network with Aetna.
Do you work with people of my background?
Yes. I work with people from all kinds of backgrounds, and especially those navigating multicultural lives: immigrants, first- and second-generation adults and teens, and people of all faiths and none. Sessions are available in English, Urdu, Hindi, and conversational Spanish.
How do I request my records?
You may request a copy of your client records at any time by emailing contact@ruhcollectivetherapy.com or calling 214-617-5157. Records are provided within the timeframe required by Texas law; a reasonable copying fee may apply.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes. What you share stays between us, with a few exceptions required by law: if there's a risk of serious harm to you or someone else, suspected abuse or neglect, or a court order. We'll go through all of this together before your first session so nothing is a surprise.
What if I'm in crisis?
My practice is not set up for emergencies or real-time crisis support. If you are in crisis right now, please call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room. You deserve immediate support.
